v36 v37 10 10 * Main site: http://grass.osgeo.org/ 11 11 * Current packaging should be considered a preliminary proof-of-concept. 12 * The default interface is the Tcl/Tk GUI GIS manager. Both a plain text curses DOS box command prompt, and a shiny new wxPython GUI interface are also available.12 * The available interfaces are the new wxPython GUI, the older Tcl/Tk GUI GIS manager, and a plain text curses DOS box command prompt (DOS box has no access to display monitors). 13 13 * '''First time users should explore the [http://grass.bologna.enea.it/tutorial/ first steps tutorial]''' after installing. 14 14 … … 53 53 * and [http://blog.qgis.org/node/124 Unattended install of QGIS (et al) from OSGeo4W] 54 54 55 == TODO == 56 57 * - 58 55 59 == Errata == 56 60 … … 66 70 67 71 68 == TODO ==69 70 * Yet the cmd style doesn't change, which is confusing (prompt).71 - <- ? please submit a tract ticket72 - HB: [do you mean the C:\> command prompt?]73 - see [http://www.computerhope.com/prompthl.htm here], e.g., 'prompt GRASS 6.4 $p$g'74 - HB: ?? prompt is already set by etc/init.bat- including version, location, and PWD. I have just changed it in develbranch_6 to be like {{{"GRASS 6.4.0RC3 (spearfish60)> "}}} ie remove PWD as it was badly cluttering the screen (due to $PWD being C:/Documents and Settings/username/Desktop/ and fixed 80col cmd window). I also added a space to the EOL. FWIW I would personally prefer the prompt to be just "GRASS> ". I can see that location name could be useful for multi-session users, but version is probably only useful for devels running multiple versions at once. For users is mostly clutter, and available from g.version.75 76 72 == Packager Notes == 77 73
