uDig
The uDig package, i.e. the User-friendly Desktop Internet GIS as of http://udig.refractions.net/ is in the Desktop category.
Since it is selfcontained in a single folder, it is unpacked entirely into osgeo4w\apps\udig.
The application can be run through:
- its executable osgeo4w\apps\udig\udig.exe
- a desktop shortcut
- a menu shortcut (note that this right now works only on English locale, i.e. where "start menu" is the right folder)
- on the osgeo4w shell through the udig.bat
