Description of how new distance calculation works
Those documents do an attempt to describe the ideas behind the new distance calculations.
Hopefully this will be a part of PostGIS 1.5
Today (2009-11-08) the source code can be found in http://svn.osgeo.org/postgis/spike/nicklas/distcalc
