have r.stats output format suitable for r.recode

Description
It would be useful if r.stats could output a report that is directly suitable for input into r.recode. This could be used to reclassify r.clump output to have cell count or area totals.
I find this information very useful in r.mapcalc when trying process areas with size totals less than a given value.
