Description
A Typo in the Notes section: Colour Composits --> Colour Composites
I suggest to introduce in the manual the term False Colour Composites. Maybe it helps beginners/students to understand easier the RGB vs. various band combinations (123, 742, etc.) concept.

Markus,
I really do not consider myself being a power user. I still feel there is an endless way to go... :-)
However, yes I would like to learn how to submit svn diffs! Just give me some time please and I'll try to sort it out. If I can't handle it though, I'll have to ask again.
Best regards, Nikos

some (slightly out of date) tips here:
http://grass.osgeo.org/wiki/Working_with_SVN#Code_submission_method
the basic idea is to work from the latest SVN (trunk or devbr6), make your edits, then
svn diff filename.txt > somechange.diff
and attach the diff to the trac ticket.
thanks, Hamish

even without a diff, if you could prepare a paragraph about that and post it to this ticket, we could paste it in.
thanks Hamish

Hamish,
let me try out the svn diff first (if nobody has corrected already the typo).

#check if up-to-date svn up scripts/i.oif/
# edit nano scripts/i.oif/description.html
# review changes first svn diff scripts/i.oif/
# save as a .diff file svn diff scripts/i.oif/ > typo_composites.diff
# attach here (or commit back in the repository)
...
Man, I like it :-) Maybe it's just a typo but it gives me the feeling that I am doing something useful.

Apologies for the "noise" here.
Hmmm... ? Why can't I attach the file and continue editing my post? Why do the commands appear in the same line with the comments...? Can I edit/remove ny own posts?
# testing command
# testing2 command2

You should be able to use the back button after submitting the file. At least Firefox remembers the state of any form elements if you go back to the page.

Single line breaks are ignored; groups of adjacent lines are considered to form a single paragraph. You can force a line break with [[BR]]; for large amounts of pre-formatted text, use {{{...}}}. See the WikiFormatting link above the comment entry box for more details.
Can I edit/remove ny own posts?
No.

Glynn,
I am sorry for the unecessary 2 previous posts of mine. I just should take a look at the link :-)
Thanks, Nikos

Do you consider an extra button for that or, simpler, a message that states "Thank you for the file submission. If wou wish you may continue editing/viewing your post by using the Back button of in your web-browser." ?
:-p

Nikos,
Could you let me (warmerdam@…) know if you get this ticket update message?

fwiw I attached a file to a bug report I was editing in this trac yesterday, and all the unsubmitted text I had entered in the Comment Box was lost when I hit the back button in firefox (deb/stable). pita to retype it all.

Frank this is (very) old and anything but interesting between so many other problems. But, I do receive tracs. I started receiving tracs a couple of months ago (I think it was before the beginning of this year -- can't recall exactly).
Thank you for your efforts, Nikos
Nikos,
since you are power user, would you mind to submit a svn diff?
See http://trac.osgeo.org/grass/wiki/HowToSVN#LocalDiffs
thanks Markus
