MapGuide fails to locate the correct fonts in Ubuntu Linux

Description
In Ubuntu Linux 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) when running the sample Sheboygan Sample Dataset, the labels for the "Districts" and "Road Line" layers are in some strange alien font instead of their expected font (Verdana)
It seems that MapGuide is having troubles locating the correct font.
I have limited knowledge of fonts in Linux, but I know that the Verdana font is actually installed, as I can choose the font when customising the appearance of my user interface in GNOME.
The workaround was to copy the actual font file directly into the "bin" directory of the mapguide server directory.

Hi, Actually, this workaround specified of putting the fonts in the bin directory, is the correct way of installing fonts for MapGuide. It does not know about other fonts on the system. I'm closing this defect, but if you would like to fix it, I suggest changing it to an enhancement: MGOS should find fonts on Linux.
Also, if you have documentation on how to handle fonts on Linux that shows that this enhancement is in fact possible, that would be helpful.
I just finished building MG 2.0 on CentOS 4.6 and got the same result
