Would it be a big deal to retrofit in the DNS:

​http://2008.foss4g.org/ -> ​http://www.foss4g2008.org/

​http://2007.foss4g.org/ -> ​http://www.foss4g2007.org/

​http://2006.foss4g.org/ -> ​http://www.foss4g2006.org/

? Then we had it complete from the beginning of OSGeo ... Just a redirect rule would do I guess.

Aliases and/or A records have been made for these. It is now up to the folks hosting the servers to actually answer them (OSGeo only controls 2009).

I assume Markus's request was actually the pointing the wrong way; all the 'external' domains now point to the appropriate place 'inside' osgeo.org.
