Mapnik was upgraded to version 2 and the xml style definition changed. I upgraded the population.xml style file inside the tilelite.tgz with the upgrade_map_xml.py script from Mapnik. It updated style works (on 6.0 alpha 3) with Tilelite and MapProxy.
Someone needs to upload the .tgz file.

If it was unclear, someone just needs to upload the attached file to http://download.osgeo.org/livedvd/data/mapnik/

I've uploaded it to the url listed. We'll close this ticket once tested.

I tested the new file and I get this error:
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK Length: 4882 (4.8K) [application/x-gzip] Saving to: `tilelite.tgz'
0K 100% 20.5K=0.2s

Perhaps a corrupted file?

I think Alex accidentally uploaded the trac HTML page for the actual attachment download. (http://download.osgeo.org/livedvd/data/mapnik/tilelite.tgz contains HTML)
The download URL is: http://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo/raw-attachment/ticket/919/tilelite.tgz

Hi,
fwiw here's my mapnik -> mapnik2 conversion script. not guaranteed to be complete, but it has worked on a rather complicated osm.xml rules file.
