I've attached a patch that would move content to the README.postgis
(or README
file, if moved). Please revise the patch at #1670 to make sure I moved everything important. I remove the GDAL Python bindings, since that's old stuff.
I recommend keeping bits of this file, moving it to raster/
:
svn move README.raster raster/README`

Two things:
-No more need for GDAL binding
-Add a note on some of the variables we have to set (just in certain environments? like Windows?): PROJSO, GDAL_DATA, any other?

Just a not to warn you that I will not touch this. I consider this more in court.
I'd say merge any valid details to
README.postgis
, then renameREADME.postgis
to simpleREADME
, without an extension.It's a minor detail, but GitHub (i.e. https://github.com/strk/postgis) scans for a
README
file to display when viewing a directory (e.g. doc/ has aREADME
).
