loading netcdf into QGIS does not work

Description
Hello, try to load the following file: ftp://sidads.colorado.edu/pub/DATASETS/snow/nsidc0321v01/north/NL.2004.nsidc0321v01.nc
into QGIS.
It fails saying that it's not a regonised layer.
Panoply loads and plot this data correctly.

Not a OSGeo4W packaging bug - see also https://trac.osgeo.org/qgis/ticket/1040 QGIS #1040. The next nightly build of qgis-dev should contain the fix.
